A Picture Of Grace

It’s impossible for someone to embrace grace with no “buts and brakes” until they’ve come to terms with their own radical helplessness. Every person I’ve ever met who has crashed and burned and, as a result, come to grips with the reality of their own powerlessness, has taught me something about God’s grace that I would’ve never known otherwise.

This amazing testimony by my dear friend, Chris Crawford, is proof that grace alone has the power to change and transform.

  • the Old Adam says:

    Great testimony.

But how does one get it? This grace of God.

Do you grab it out of thin air?

  • Christina says:

Chris’s story reminds me so much of my own. I’ve watched this several times already. It wasn’t until I crashed and burned that I started to see God’s grace in a whole new light. Now I’m hyper-sensitive to legalistic messages. Pastor Tullian, I really feel the Lord led me to your messages (as well as Matt Chandler’s) to save my life. So grateful for that grace. Also, on another note, I know you’re a Heat Fan, but just gotta say GO SPURS GO.

  • Todd Christensen says:

Thank you Chris. I struggle with addiction too, and need to hear of God’s grace in my broken life constantly.

  • Secure in Christ says:

Exactly! Precious testimony to the Glory of Christ!

Amen, and forgive us, we repent, for our unbelief, the form of godliness that denies Your goodness, greatness, mightiness, love for Your own; for making light of our every spiritual blessing, the true victorious life now that does not depend on any earthy circumstance, but only on Jesus-the riches of the glorious mystery- Christ in us–the hope of glory; for not proclaiming Him, admonishing every man, teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ- in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him we have been made complete, that we may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Forgive us for our unbelief just like Eve and Adam’s. Thank you for your mercy and grace, Lord; for Your sacrifice, for Your every word, for Your Spirit in us, for opening many eyes in this day to see our great hope and inheritance, just as has been Your pray for us.
